Beautiful Roan Mountain In The Background

The above picture is a new variety of apple we discovered in our nursery.  It matures around the 20th of July here in the high mountains of Western North Carolina.  It is an excellent fresh eating apple and it is also an excellent cooking apple.  It's meat is snow white and has a tart zesty flavor.  It is very aromatic and has excellent keeping qualities if kept cool.  This picture of rhododendron was make on top of the Roan Mountain.  There are over 500 acres of natural rhododendron gardens on the mountain.  It is the second highest mountain east of the Mississippi  River.  It is the mountain you can see in the top picture through the apple blossoms in our orchard.
